DESIGN IT, BUILD IT…
Here at Pi2Joy, you’ll find a wide variety of custom projects mostly geared around classic gaming systems and emulators. These builds are a hobby for me, so some take a while to complete. Truth be told, I enjoy the building/learning process more than the actual gaming. I’m not a professional wood worker, painter, or electronics engineer so expect to see flaws. I created this website in the fall of 2018 because I wanted a place to showcase some of my projects. I decided on the name Pi2Joy because at the time I was designing my very first PCB that would connect a Raspberry Pi to Joystick controls and buttons, a.k.a HAT (Hardware Attached on Top). I picked up my first Raspberry Pi in 2012 and I was amazed with everything you could do with the little $35 computer. Since then I’ve used Raspberry Pi’s to create a weather station, backup generator monitor, media server, and arcade machines just to name a few. The Raspberry Pi is a Linux based computer so there is a slight learning curve coming from Windows but Linux is extremely powerful and reliable. With a quick google search you will see that you can use a Raspberry Pi for just about anything.
